December can be cooler with drizzle, becoming only warmer and dryer through the month of June. In late July monsoons and annual typhoons arrive.
CYCLING ABILITY
Is this trip right for you? This trip is designed for and provides full support for cyclists of all abilities. However, for long distance riding, you should be skilled with bike handling, comfortable and have had experience cycling roads typical of a developing country. For shorter options, such as children, we can plan safe rides on side country roads and footpaths without traffic. We would be glad to put you in contact with past travelers, of all abilities, if you would like more feedback. We can also organize custom, private tours for any cycling ability.

ACCOMMODATION
Hue offers exceptional accommodation at La Residence, an Accor Sofitel property. In Hoi An, the Life Resort located in the city with balcony views of the Thu Bon Rivers offers the greatest convenience. For beach preference, a short three miles out on the coast there is the long time favorite, Victoria Resort, or the world-class Nam Hai, on par with the Amans (a GHM property).

Vietnam reaches far beyond the historical and scenic sites we offer on this itinerary and we encourage you to explore on your own at anytime during the tour. Day trips with the group and riding days are always optional. Additionally, no two tours are the same! The route above will likely differ. GUIDES
Cycling guide Hoa Van Nguyen, Todd Hanson and Le Van Sinh have lead dozens of VeloAsia tours since 1996. Patrick Morris organizes this trip, having lead it through the mid-1990s. Cultural guides are native of the area visited (in Hanoi,for example, your guide would be from Hanoi). Guides are critical to the quality of your tour, in Vietnam there are but a handful of capable ones specializing in cycling with the needed skills. Ours have a minimum of five years experience leading cycling tours. We would be happy to put you in contact with past travelers regarding your guide.
