We're disappointed if someone doesn't tell us their tour was one of if not the best trip they've every taken, but fortunately most do.

If you wish to speak with someone who's gone before you, please let us know and we'll supply names, email address and numbers of people to contact. Find out why we have been featured in National Geographic Adventure, Outside Magazine, New York Times, National Public Radio, and more.

Here is only a portion of comments we've received over the last 18 years :

"It was one of the most memorable experiences of my life." F.A. Deseran. Christmas in Dalat, 1996

"I just wanted to let you know that I had a wonderful time biking through Vietnam. Sinh was an amazing guide. I was very apprehensive about a "guided tour" since I have always travelled independently and on a shoestring. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed having a guide. Now I don't think I would have felt that way about any guide. Sinh was just so much fun to be with!!! He is so knowledgable and accomodating and easy going. He and the others with VeloAsia took very good care of our road bikes. We got to ride as much as we wanted, even in the pouring rain and mud (poor Sinh road with us). And I just had an amazing trip. I can't say enough great things about Sinh. You have an irreplacable employee in my opinion. I'm sure you already know all this stuff but I thought I would give you the feedback anyways!"  -Denise Kircher, Christmas in Dalat 2001

"I had a fantastic time on the Viet Nam tour. Can hardly think of anything that might have made it better. From leaders to staff to food to hotels, and especially the other riders, it was a memorable trip. ALL in a positive way."  -R. Sulkes, Lunar new Year Tour 2000

"A once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I'm thinking of going again"  -L. Zimmerman

"Your pre-tour support was thorough and appreciated."    -J. Eaton

"All members of our group arrived safely and on schedule in Salt Lake. The tour must have been a great success because, in spite of two accidents, one broken hand, one case of bronchitis, three colds and one major stomach upset (our most adventurous eater) all agreed that they had a great time."  -L. Maloy, Custom Tour

"I've been on several Timberline tours in the states and Backroads in Bali. This was more "seat of the pants", less indulgent and mothering, but the price was less than half, so it fares well. It also attracts more adventurous and interesting people who are not focused on the creature comforts but on the experience. So this is much preferred"  -B. Levy, Christmas in Dalat 2002

"Well, for lots of reasons, the Viet Nam bicycle trip that "we all" shared, was a tremendous experience for me. It's not every couple that shares a honeymoon with more than a dozen strangers. Thanks again for the memories." -M. Bailey

"Sinh's knowledge of the history of Vietnam and the culture was excellent. He was always smiling, always eager to incorporate special requests, always concerned about each group member's well-being. His organizational skills were outstanding; his personal/professional contacts in each area we visited were phenomenal. I have had now 3 wonderful biking vacations including VeloAsia's trip to Vietnam."  -D. Martin

"I enjoyed the degree to which our guides (Hai and Sinh) explained and toured us through various parts of Vietnam were unprecedented by anything I've experienced. Like watching the Discovery channel, only live."  -M. Bagg, Tet 2002

"I saw more of Vietnam in three weeks with VeloAsia than I did while serving a whole year in Vietnam during the war."  -H. Billings.

"Not just the best bicycle tour I have ever been on, but the best trip I have ever experienced."  -Terri A., Tet Vietnam 1999

"I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Halong Bay and Bike Tour. Singh was great and the 3 drivers were at our beckon call.. The hotels were fabulous! This by far the best trip I have ever taken! Looking forward to doing another trip with your group in the future."  -S. Fulton, Tet 2003

"Our trip was fantastic, the group great, and the guide (whose name I've momentarily suppressed) was just terrific. Wonderful tet celebration with Chin playing his harmonica, and the one Republican from our group giving a greeting to the Central Committee. All very entertaining. We loved the trip. I could do with less splendid hotels, but the biking, the Vietnamese, etc--just wonderful. Anyway, I have recommended others to your program and not sure that any have come yet, but again thanks" -M. Jaffe Tet 2003

"I'm writing to you from an Internet cafe in Dalat.  We're nearing the end of our Christmas in Dalat tour and I can say with absolute certainty that this has been an awesome vacation.  The cycling has been great, my travel companions are nice folks and our guide and driver, Mr. Lam and Mr. Hing, were wonderful, supportive and funny guys, well worth their weight in gold.  And of course Vietnam and her people have been awesome with breathtaking scenery, nice beaches, the "Hello!" calls as we cycled along National Highway 1 and other places, the friendly smiles as well as the stares (well those were kind of weird but we probably do look even more weird to them)."  -Betsy L., Christmas in Dalat 2004

"Although it's been a while since we returned, I just wanted to drop you a note.  Our trip was fantastic, especially the parts we arranged through you.  Trung and Diep are great guides!"  -G. Willis, private tour Dec. 2004

"First, I wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed the Halong Bay and Bike Tour. Sinh was great and the 3 drivers were at our beckon call.. The hotels were fabulous! This by far the best trip I have ever taken! Looking forward to doing another trip with your group in the future." - K. Fulton, Year of the Monkey. 2004

What a great trip and everyone you connected us to in Vietnam and Cambodia were unfailingly helpful and lovely human beings. The junk in Ha Long Bay was INCREDIBLE!  Food fantastic.  -B. Goodrich, custom family tour Jan. 2005

"Thanks for offering such a fine experience to us through Veloasia. We had an outstanding trip and felt that your representations were accurate. Our guides were excellent. I would be interested in other trips through Veloasia." R. Thomas, custom family tour June, 2005

"We've been back from our extended trip a couple of weeks now- want to let you know that we very much enjoyed our time in Viet Nam and Cambodia.  The guides were great with the family and really took care of us. The schedule was good, not too much, not too little, we were busy but not too busy.  I had some trouble understanding them sometimes but I am overall very impressed with their professionalism. Thanks- you guys have a great program especially for families." B. McBride, custom family tour December, 2005

"Everything, and I mean everything -- every little detail -- was exactly as your company had proposed our trip would be, even the part about it being the most incredible trip of our lives... Incredible trip, caring, wonderful staff, and gracious people. We be planning on the same trip next next year with oyu again!" N. Parrotta, New York. Private Family Tour Myanmar November, 2006.

We wanted to thank you, Lam, and Liem for making our biking trip in the Mekong Delta a wonderful experience!  We thoroughly enjoyed the floating markets, the old wooden house where we had lunch, and of course, biking through the small villages where all the local kids waved to us and said a very cheery "hello!"

Our entire trip to Vietnam was wonderful - from Saigon to the Mekong to Hue to Hoi An to Hanoi and Halong Bay.  It's a beautiful country, and we'd highly recommend visiting (and of course VeloAsia!) to any of our friends. M. Gosselin. Custom Vietnam Tour, 2006

This past August I spent 8 days bike touring in South Vietnam all organized by your company and we were very impressed with the overall arrangement. As such I have spoken to colleagues about your organization. We had wonderful bike ride in South Vietnam first half of August. Our bike guide was Chao and mini-bus guide was Man. Both outstanding, I want to congratulate you once again. We plan to be back pretty soon! Sean Cavanuagh, 2007

Dear VeloAsia, A short message to say that hosting children under 4 can be a success! We had a fantastic time, our guide was excellent, and the trip a memorable one for the whole family. We have been telling many friends about Velo Asia and we are scouring your website for our next adventure holiday. Thanks. Kind regards, David Bellingham January, 2008

I'm here! A bit on the raggedy side (these last 3days have really socked it to me!), but the Cathay Pacific flight you arranged was a dream - attentive service, good food, excellent entertainment choices (I saw Anthony Bourdain's series on Laos!). The Hong Kong airport is beautiful! I had a delicious meal, rested, and without any problems, found and boarded my Hanoi flight (I really appreciate how helpfulthe HK airport guides are). Vietnam airlines had the best food EVER and was a very nice and calming flight (home stretch). Lam was right there! Super smiley, very welcoming, and just the right combination of friendliness and expert anecdotal advice - it was the most seamless travel experience I can recall having. Like an expertly coordinated dance! Thank you for making this transition so seamless! Now I'm off to breakfast (I LOVE the hotel here! the rooms are clean, very service-oriented staff, fantastic location!) to plan my itinerary for the day! Cheers, and thanks again!Adriana Izquierdo

We could not imagine anything being better, everything was beyond perfect. We loved our guides, Lam, Phong and Thi who became more like close friends" S. Cuniff

From us, and from our entire assortment of kids, friends, and fellow-travelers, we send you an enormous THANKS for an unforgettable Viet Nam trip. We could not have been more pleased with the arrangements, accomodations, and advise about what to do and see. Our guides, Lam and An, were expert, cheerful, knowlegable, and unfailingly helpful, and our drivers skilled and friendly. Viet Nam exceeded our expectations in every way, and we feel fortunate that there's still much to see. Please let all who helped us along the way know how much we appreciate everything done for us. David's parting remark, as he left for Japan: "best family trip--ever!" Alan Fine, Seattle

"Fantastic, fantastic, fantastic, I can't even begin to cover how wonderful the trip was, from the great service, wonderful hotel choices, and of course, the people along the way." Thank you for everything. ~ Marc & Patti Schapiro

"We had a wonderful time on our trip in Viet Nam. We only wish we had more time. The guides were great and we though Vu, though new, was particularly lovely and helpful in that his English was clear and he had a great attitude -- patient etc. with everyone. We lucked out with the group, we liked all our fellow riders a lot. Todd was fabulous, we like him a great deal. We would happily recommend Velo Asia to anyone contemplating a southeast asian bike trip. By the way, thanks for the recommendation of Phu Quoc, we adored our time there and the Mango Bay resort turned out to be great. Its out of they way of main town but a secluded little haven with a great beach great restaurant. All the best to you!" Jill and Jeffrey Bishop, Tet 2010

"What a fantastic trip we had in Myanmar! First of all, we can't say enough about our guide, Melvin, and how much his thoughtfulness, care and imagination contributed to making this a trip of a lifetime. The cycling (including bad roads, traffic, beating sun) was definitely too challenging for us, but Melvin and excellent driver KongKong found plenty of interesting sightseeing for us to replace our reduced cycling schedule. They even found a remote Nat festival, which had never hosted a foreign guest! Also one perfect stretch of shaded country road outside Monywa that was the highlight of our trip. There for several hours we shared the road cycling with only children on their way to school, local farmers and villagers....a truly magic experience. Each of the hotels was excellent, and each restaurant, and the dishes chosen by Melvin (quite the foodie!) was great. Of our 3 trips to Myanmar, this one with VeloAsia was definitely the best. Of course a special thanks to you and Tree for organizing our trip with such a limited amount of time. Everyone's flexibility at VeloAsia, from start to finish, helped make this a trip we'll long and happily remember." All the best, Laurie and Paul Deemer, Myanmar 2010

"We are back home and I wanted to tell you that we were thrilled with our trip around the Mekong Delta. Exremely well organized, with a very competent guide Phoung and a very nice driver. It was a total success and would loved to do it again!!! So many thanks to your team for all the fantastics souvenirs we are taking back with us." Best regards, Patricia Uribe 2010

"Thank you for the wonderful tour you organized for us in June. We had an incredible time start to finish, and it truly was the trip of a lifetime. No doubt, we saw places and had experiences that we simply could not have had without Veloasia and everything you provided for us. Seeing the country from the back of a bike immersed us in a way that we just could not have done otherwise. I know you generally organize trips for more experienced riders, but I would highly recommend a trip like ours to all fellow novices, seeing the country the way we did is simply unparalleled. More than that, our guides--Lam and Phuc--made our trip incomparably better. From taking us to the best local cuisine to their patience with our sometimes limited cycling skills, the entire trip was better for having them along with us. We would highly recommend both guides. Also both drivers, Mr. T and Tien were always there with all of the support we needed. Thank you for doing such an excellent job organizing the tour for us - we will highly recommend Veloasia in the future." Reid & Whitney Miller, Vietnam 2010

"I wanted to send you an email two weeks ago to say we had a wonderful trip in Vietnam!! We came home to piles of snow, biggest snowfall since 1971. We loved everything about our trip! Thank you very much for your help putting it all together for us. We look forward to going back again in the near future. All your contacts on our trip sure looked after us. I wanted to tell you about 'The Eden' resort in Phu Quoc Island. The resort is on a lovely stretch of beach and nice pool area. It was so nice to walk down 'long beach' without any development." Janet & Jeff Steele, Vietnam 2011

"Dear Patrick, I want to thank you again for an absolutely fantastic trip to Vietnam. Andy and I had such a marvelous time thanks to you and Mario. We continue to sing praises to Mario, so I'm sure his ears are ringing! What a truly delightful, thoughtful and amazing young man. (We are sending him a little gift to the Veloasia office, by the way.) And many thanks to Tree for the excellent planning of the trip--everything was first rate. Thank you for posting those fabulous photos on Flickr. You've got a great eye, Patrick. I still can't believe you can ride uphill, organize the guides, talk on the phone and take such excellent photos--all at the same time! Amazing. So I am very much looking forward to the DVD that you are sending. I will post some of mine on Facebook, and will send you the link. I am FINALLY over my long-lasting jet lag, and Andy and I are already chatting about our next Veloasia travel ideas. I promise, next trip I will be in much better shape! Thank you again for your moral support during the trip and your incredibly warm and positive attitude. It was truly an unforgettable adventure! Tam biet and Love, Nansi"

"Well, we're back and have appeared to put our jet lag behind us. All that remains are the memories. Fortunately, there are boatloads, enough to fill all the rice fields in Vietnam. I wanted that thank you, once again, for an absolutely fantastic time together. The trip was meticulously planned and executed, the guides and drivers were wonderful extensions of your organization, and the country - well, it left an indelible and very positive mark on everyone. The attention to detail was most appreciated and the various activities were all spectacular. And, after parting with you in Saigon, our trip with Khang up the Mekong (and later into Cambodia) was equally amazing. Please pass along to everyone our most sincere appreciation. It was over-the-top fantastic." Life is good! ~John Heil, Vietnam 2012

"It was the best trip of our lives." ~Jennifer Bostrom, Myanma r 2012

"Just a quick email to say that we got home to Scotland late last night from our fabulous Myanmar trip and are now cocooned recovering from the travel and the re-entry into a climate 30 degrees C cooler than the one we’ve just been enjoying. We arrived back to snow on the ground, a bit of a shock to the system after the Asian heat! Our thanks go to you and everyone involved in planning and executing the tour – everything went really well, there were no hiccoughs and we were fortunate to have such a supportive and attentive team on the ground. Our excellent guide, Mo, made everything run so smoothly for us (though I’m sure that involved a lot of hard work on his part) and the driver and assistant in what was known as ‘the bus’ were so attentive and helpful all the time – we were rather spoilt as they wouldn’t let us lift a finger to do anything. They were all great at judging the limits of our 9-year-old, who is shy but very determined and stubborn at times, and Mo did a grand job of ensuring that each day’s plans took into account our abilities, the route and the weather. We all loved the cycling and the opportunities it afforded for being out in the countryside away from other visitors.

It was sensory overload in a good way; our brains are zinging with everything that we saw and did – and my 11-year-old is thrilled to think that he’s seen around a million buddhas, what with caves, temples, stupas etc. Every day was different, with its own highlights. Definitely a memorable trip. The local manager called us via Mo’s cellphone during the trip to check how everything was going; unfortunately we were in busy traffic when I was speaking to him so I was struggling to converse, but I hope I managed to convey to him how impressed we were with the arrangements. Please pass on our thanks. Back to school and work tomorrow…. With best wishes." ~Alex Wilowska (& family)
